Programmes and Activities

1. Scholarship Awards: PL Foundation has been giving awards to the best students in science and mathematics at the American Christian Academy (ACA) since 2009. A good number of the students have graduated and are pursuing various science-related subjects in several universities around the globe. The Foundation intends to extend these awards to other schools and colleges in Nigeria.

2. Science Development Project:  PL Foundation is aware that there exist in our schools brilliant young innovators who have dreams and developed original innovative projects but such projects/dreams have died owing to lack of funds to complete such project/dream.  PL Foundation intends to identify such brilliant ideas and facilitate the completion of such projects.

3. Boot Camp/Science Village: PL Foundation holds annual boot camps to stimulate the creative abilities of young, brilliant and innovative science students by exposing them to current strategies in scientific innovation. Campers are encouraged to develop a specific project from scratch during the camping period. Also, accomplished lecturers, scientists and entrepreneurs are invited to give talks and practical demonstrations. This is hoped to kindle the interests of these young scientists to take up careers in developmental innovation/inventions.

4. Networking/Collaboration: At Peter Lamuren Foundation, we are aware that numerous brilliant and original ideas/innovations embarked upon by individuals in Nigeria end up not seeing the light of the day. A major reason for this, aside financial incapability is the inability of such inventors to connect with relevant institutions and agencies which can assist them in giving their inventions the needed boost. Peter Lamuren Foundation identifies such brilliance and innovation and collaborate with relevant agencies and institutions to ensure that such projects are brought into limelight.

5. Tuition Fees Programme: As a charitable organisation, we recognise that in many of our schools, there are several young, brilliant students who are indigent and are unable to pay for their education due to one reason or the other. Peter Lamuren Foundation identifies such brilliant but poor students who are science-oriented, creative and hold great potentials to becoming scientists to pay their tuition fees and meet other financial obligations to their school as the Foundation deems fit.

6. Annual Lecture/Seminar: Peter Lamuren organises annual lectures and seminars geared towards stimulating interests in the teaching and learning of the sciences and mathematics. Eminent scholars, educationists and scientists are invited to discuss current and germane issues relating to the study of mathematics and the sciences.
